About Richmond Turf Club

Richmond Racecourse, located in the small town of Richmond in North West Queensland is home to various annual events on the local communities social calendar.

Many of the events are organised by the Richmond Turf Club, which host four Racing Queensland race meets each year – the biggest being in June that is run in conjunction with the Richmond Field Days.

The formation of the Richmond Turf Club in 1956 was to promote registered race clubs in the west and to form a circuit from Mt Isa to Charters Towers.

The Richmond Turf Club (RTC) Executive are committed to ensuring the Richmond Racecourse is a place that is safe and welcoming for all.

We want all patrons, volunteers and staff to be treated with respect and decency in an environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.

Richmond Turf Club Executive reserve the right to prohibit entry and remove from the Racecourse any patrons or staff that are behaving inappropriately.

Dress Code

RTC dress code should take into account the Richmond weather, while maintaining the standards expected by a majority of our Members.

Behaviour

Members and Patrons are respectfully asked to consider their fellow members and other patrons and our staff at all times.

RTC has zero tolerance for bullying or harassment of staff and Club officials.

Liquor Licensing Rules

Race meetings at Richmond Racecourse are subject to Liquor licensing Regulations and guidelines for Responsible Service of Alcohol are adhered to.  These may extend to limiting the number of drinks that can be purchased in one transaction.  Also, staff have the authority to refuse service to persons deemed to be showing the effects of excessive alcohol consumption.
