Queensland Racing Community Rally - 16 December 2015

Racing Queensland have recently released the “Tracking Towards Sustainability Report.”:

http://www.racingqueensland.com.au/Industry-Services/Tracking-Towards-Sustainability-Report The report details a number of measures that Racing Queensland intends to use to 'get them back into the black'.

The report has been met with criticism from across the industry and if implemented, the ramifications of those cost-cutting measures for country racing couldn't be more serious.

Con Searle, the president of Kilcoy race club and a member of the Queensland Country Racing Association, has asked that all race clubs in our area show their support for a rally that will be held at Doomben Racecourse on Wednesday. Below are some details about the rally including three resolutions that they are hoping will be supported by everybody in attendance.

You can support the organisers of the rally by sending an email to Con (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) outlining your concerns about the future of our industry and saying that you support the resolutions. The rally is for the racing industry to consider the under listed resolutions and the desperate situation that the racing industry is facing. Possible Resolutions

  1. The Industry rejects the proposal to implement a Board with a majority membership of non-industry knowledgeable people
  2. The Industry requires the government to, within 1 month, appoint a Board under the current structure, with appropriate input from Industry
  3. That until a Board has been implemented and given sufficient time to assess the current situation and devise and agree a strategy, no changes are implemented.
